Thank you kids and husband for being so patient with me and loving mommy just the way she is. You mean the world to me!
Four years ago, I was inspired by an entire elementary school who rallied together to grow their hair out for Locks Of Love.
These 6th graders grew their hair for over a year and then cut it all off the same day. We were blessed to have Kurt be one of the hairdressers that day. I will never forget the teacher who had grown her hair out for 30 years. She only had it trimmed once in a blue moon, and it had grown past her waist. She too was so moved that she chopped it off at that moment. The entire auditorium applauded and cheered for her. It moved us all to tears. Combined there were 1300 inches of hair donated.
I have lost several people to cancer, one of them being my wonderful mom, Florence. This weekend I decided that I will grow my hair out and donate it to Locks of Love next year. I would love it if I can motivate some of you to take on this mission with me. We have the ability to raise a patients self- esteem with this simple gesture of kindness.
